The host, Gunnar Ŝorsteinn Halldórsson, lives in the guesthouse' main building. Gunnar is a university professor in Icelandic language and literature - and a professional tourist-guide, specialised in geology, history and culture. He is also fully licensed as a driver for tourists. Gunnar speaks Scandinavian languages, English and French.
It is our pleasure to welcome our guests our self - and we promise them personal service and aid with organising the stay in Iceland.

Our aim is to fulfill four categories that we know are the most important for a general traveler, i.e. that the room is clean and comfortable, with private facilities and all that for low price. That explains our motto:

No ordinary people can afford to stay in our expensive country for some time, dining at restaurants twice a day. That's why we have a fully equipped kitchenette in our rooms. If you wish, we put in a rich breakfast before your arrival and fill up when needed. So you can have your breakfast in privacy whenever you like - and you can make your own meals whenever you like.
In summertime, our guests are offered private guidance in a private vehicle with Gunnar Ŝorsteinn, for excursions in Reykjavik or to the countryside. It can be one-day-tours or longer trips, either organized by our guests themselves or fully organized by us. If you are four persons or more this could be cheaper than choosing tours in buses with bigger travel companies.
