Gunnar Þorsteinn has a long experience as a professional tourist guide, licensed for all parts of Iceland, explaining the scene in Scandinavian languages, English or French. He is also fully licensed as a bus driver and has worked as a private driver-guide for many years.
We offer our guests excursions with Gunnar in a comfortable vehicle, either in a smaller car for up to four passengers (cat. A) or in a minibus that has seats for up to 8 passengers (cat. B). The tours can be put down by our guests themselves, including things of their interests, such as whale-watching, horse-riding, the Blue Lagoon etc.
The price for such a tour depends on time and distance - you just send us your wishes and we give you a proposition. The following excursions, fully organised by us, give you though an idea about the cost.
If you are three persons or more, our tours can in some cases be cheaper than with the bigger travel agencies, in other cases more expensive. Whether or not, we do not round you up in the bus after a beforehand decided visit of 12 minutes!

Notice that prices depend on the car size, not the number of passengers. Notice also that the prices are fixed in Icelandic kronas only - and remember that the currency rate can vary from day to day.

Golden Circle

This is the most popular excursion, including a.o. the three musts for every tourist in Iceland: Gullfoss waterfall, the grand Geysir and the national park Þingvellir, one of UNESCO World Heritage. We leave it up to the two biggest travel agencies to describe the tour. At the same time you can compare the prices - and see what suits best your wishes and your wallet:

South Coast
Duration approx. 10 hours - Price*: cat.A 62.000.- / cat.B 104.000.-

This tour includes two beautiful waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, both around 60 meters high. After visiting the famous museum Skógar, we drive to Iceland's southernmost point Dyrhólaey, to watch the enormous cliffs and maybe puffins. On the way we touch the glacier Sólheimajökull. Than we pass the small town Vik and finish with Gunnar's favorite place in Iceland, a secret one where bigger buses cannot manage: There you have the best point of view on the longest black beach of the world. A hard day and long, but unforgettable.

Nature and Sagas

The large fjord and valley Borgarfjörður north of Reykjavik is really worth visiting. There you find Europe's most powerful geothermal spring Deildartunguhver and the beautiful waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafoss in surroundings of great lava formations. The writer Snorri Sturluson and the saga-hero and poet Egill Skallagrímsson both lived in the valley - Snorri having his museum in Reykholt and Egill in Borgarnes, in the same house as the most interesting museum of the settlement of Iceland.

Adventures
Duration approx. 8 hours - Price*: cat.A 49.000.- / cat.B 92.000.-

Horse-riding close to Hveragerði, 40 km east of Reykjavik; famous lobster-soup at a most charming restaurant in the little, old coast-village Eyrarbakki; boat trip for whale-watching from the fishing town Grindavík. We finish with relaxing in the 40 degrees hot water of the mysterious Blue Lagoon. On the way between those places the driver will patiently fulfil your many wishes on photo-stops for picturing the beautiful and various, volcanic landscape.

Knowing Reykjavik

We make stops at all the most important monuments of Reykjavik. We choose the most beautiful points of view to wonder the city's surrounding and the large bay Faxaflói. We show you where to find and how to get to the most popular tourist attractions, restaurants and museums. And Gunnar tells you everything about Reykjaviks history and the daily life in the capital of Iceland.
